Wondering how you're ever going to have time to do the things you enjoy or make time for yourself? Time to start a new project? Time to exercise? Time to just disconnect and be alone?
Try Time-Blocking your day!
⠀
Time-blocking helps you:⠀
-prioritize⠀
-get things done⠀
-stay focused⠀
-be intentional with your time ⠀
⠀
Here are 4 steps to begin time-blocking for a more productive & joyful day:
1 PLAN - List tasks that you need & want to accomplish for the day⠀
⠀
Spend 10-20 minutes doing a brain dump of all the tasks you want to accomplish at least the night before. ⠀
Prioritize your list. Eliminate/delegate any tasks you can. ⠀
⠀
2 BLOCK- Assign blocks of time in your day to those tasks ⠀
⠀
Having trouble figuring out when you're going to find time to go to the gym, work on your side hustle, or just take some time to be alone? Block out these things FIRST. ⠀
Block out time for meals, drive time if you plan on going somewhere, what time you plan on waking up and going to bed. This helps you visualize how much time you have so you can be more intentional.⠀
Block in some "flex time" each day for things that will inevitably come up from time to time.⠀
⠀
3 DO - Focus & perform tasks⠀
⠀
Create a distraction free environment and take action on the tasks you assigned for each block. ⠀
Set alarms to notify you when it's time to move onto the next block. ⠀
⠀
4 REVISE - Review your day & adjust accordingly⠀
Either at the end of each block or at the end of the day, reflect on what you were able to accomplish. Did you need more time or less time? Make adjustments to each block for the next day. ⠀
